David studied Studio Art at the University of California, Irvine. Through his work in a variety of media, he discovered his passion for photography.
While at university, he co-founded a non-profit organization to bring art education to inner-city schools that lacked funding for the arts in their curricula. This organization also allowed him to collaborate with other artists and opened the door to a variety of exhibition opportunities in and around Los Angeles.
After receiving his degree, he worked primarily as a corporate photographer—hopping around major cities in the United States—photographing skyscrapers, meetings, events, and further cultivating an appreciation of architecture and travel. Subsequent work drew him to Asia, where he has worked in tourism for a number of years as a tour leader, photographer, and blogger.
